Reports to: President

Base Salary: $140,000-200,000 Base Salary + Bonus + Excellent Benefits (Medical/Dental/Vision, matched 401k) and more!

Hybrid Schedule: 2-days onsite per week

Location: Atlanta, GA (near Truist Park)

General Summary:

The Vice President of Business Development at Finova Capital, a FairSquare brand, is responsible for acquiring and onboarding a pipeline of strategic partners - merchant acquirers and ISOs – with a portfolio of small business merchants needing access to working capital and sales-based financing (SBF) products. The role will work collaboratively with the President and the FairSquare organization to drive aggressive market expansion for our Working Capital (WC) and Sales-Based Financing (SBF) products. This role is laser-focused on strategic growth, relationship acquisition, and revenue generation in both established and emerging markets. The VP will be the chief architect of Finova’s SBF/WC market strategy—building high-value partnerships, developing new referral channels, and closing complex, high-margin transactions. The role makes deals through deep product expertise, an established network, and a relentless drive for market share growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute a business development strategy for SBF and WC products from market analysis through revenue execution to assure high volume growth.
  • Track, analyze, and report KPIs and market intelligence to inform ongoing strategy.
  • Source, negotiate, and close new business opportunities with direct clients, referral partners, brokers, and strategic alliances that optimize both client satisfaction and company profitability.
  • Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with key decision-makers in target industries.
  • Represent Finova at industry conferences, networking events, and trade shows to build brand recognition and credibility.
  • Drive pipeline creation and conversion through outbound prospecting, in-person networking, and targeted marketing initiatives.
  • Onboard, and manage high-performing referral and broker relationships to increase deal flow.
  • Partner with Risk, Underwriting, and Operations to ensure seamless client onboarding and fast funding cycles.
  • Collaborate with marketing to design and launch lead-generation campaigns that convert into funded transactions.
  • Establish a repeatable, scalable business development playbook for the sales team.
  • Mentor and coach team members on relationship selling, negotiation, and closing techniques.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • 10+ years of business development and sales leadership in financial services, preferably SBF, WC, or commercial lending.
  • Proven track record of building high-revenue pipelines and closing large, complex transactions.
  • Established network of brokers, referral partners, and industry connections in Florida and the Southeast.
  • Deep knowledge of SBF/WC product structures, underwriting requirements, and market trends.
  • Exceptional negotiation, relationship-building, and closing skills.
  • Experience managing high-performance, metrics-driven sales teams.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to craft win-win deal structures.
  • Proficiency in CRM and sales management platforms (Salesforce experience strongly preferred).

Travel Required:

  • 25–40% travel expected for key client meetings, networking, and events.
