Job Title: UX Designer – Manufacturing Applications

Location: Milwaukee, WI (preferred) | Toledo, OH (secondary) | St. Joseph, MO (tertiary) | Remote (flexible)

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated UX Designer to support digital transformation initiatives within the manufacturing domain. This role will be responsible for designing persona-driven user experiences for modern manufacturing workflows, ensuring solutions are intuitive, efficient, and aligned with business needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UX design, experience working in industrial or manufacturing environments, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead UX design efforts for Mendix-based and other low-code applications supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Translate outputs from design thinking workshops into actionable UX strategies and design deliverables.
  • Partner with developers, product owners, business stakeholders, and consulting teams to ensure user-centered design principles are consistently applied.
  • Define, establish, and maintain UX and design standards that drive quality, consistency, and usability.
  • Advocate for user needs and ensure designs align with persona-based application development approaches .
  • Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and user flows that communicate design concepts clearly.
  • Conduct usability testing and integrate feedback into iterative design improvements.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional UX design experience, with preference for work in manufacturing or industrial environments .
  • Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions and measurable impact.
  • Hands-on experience with design thinking methodologies and translating business requirements into intuitive interfaces.
  • Familiarity with low-code development platforms (e.g., Mendix) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with cross-functional and distributed teams .
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and advocate for design best practices.
