JOB SUMMARY:

A WLC Facilitator is responsible for conducting leadership seminars and workshops for high school student conferences during National FFA’s Washington Leadership Conference. Core responsibilities include teaching conference curriculum, providing counsel to participants, motivating students, serving as a tour leader, and addressing disciplinary issues when necessary. Facilitators also manage administrative tasks, including timely completion of expense vouchers, scheduling conference travel, and corresponding with local, state, and national FFA staff. This role requires participation in two weeks of planning and training prior to the first conference and certification in First Aid/CPR upon hire. All responsibilities may be adjusted, changed, or removed at any time by the Program Specialist or Program Manager.

Mandatory Training Dates: March 22 - 28, 2026 (Indianapolis, Indiana) May 23 - June 1, 2026 (Washington, D.C.) Conference Dates: June 2 - July 14, 2026 (Washington, D.C.)

  • Staff will be hired with the potential to facilitate up to five weeks.Conference Location: Washington, D.C.

Compensation: $714 for training weeks, $980 for conference weeks and $243 for cleanup

General Duties And Responsibilities

  • Facilitate all selected pre-developed content during each conference.
  • Work with Corporate Partners, as assigned, to coordinate an in-person or virtual visit during
  • conferences.
  • Complete administrative duties such as completing expense reports, scheduling travel, etc.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with National FFA Staff on items relating to conference
  • changes and updates. This includes receiving and implementing feedback throughout the conference
  • season.

  • Must be confident in speaking in front of small and large groups.
  • Must be able to interact and work with a diverse group of internal and/or external members, teachers, state staff and National staff.
  • Must be able to provide and receive feedback with a growth mindset and collaborative demeanor.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft, Adobe, Apple, and Final Cut Pro programs.
  • Must have personal access to, and be able to use, a computer or laptop.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma, Some College.

Experience

Previous FFA experience preferred.

  • FACILITATION VIDEO: Film and submit a video using the outlined requirements. You may choose from one of the two options for how you’ll demonstrate your facilitation abilities in the video while still meeting the requirements. Once filmed, videos should be uploaded to YouTube.   • Video Requirements:
  • Videos should showcase at least two of the following steps: setting context, giving directions, and/or processing learning.

ii. Videos should also focus on demonstrating your ability to build rapport with an audience and showcase your personality.

iii. Videos should take into consideration the conference setting as it relates to this position.

iv. Videos will be reviewed to determine your overall facilitation skills. It’s encouraged to avoid using staged or scripted content.

  • Videos should NOT include extra graphics, music, underscore, etc.

vi. Videos should be 3-5 minutes in length.

Video Option 1: Facilitation Example (with a live audience) – HIGHLY PREFERRED

  • Record a video facilitating content, of your choice, with a live audience
  • Note: You may use the example content on the following page, but it is not required for this option.

Video Option 2: Facilitation Demo (without a live audience)

  • If you are unable to access a live audience during the application period, you may submit a video facilitating the example content on the following page without an audience.
  • After the facilitation demonstration, you should include an explanation for the two questions below in your video.
  • How would you check for student understanding throughout the activity?
  • How would you build rapport with students throughout the activity?
  • Submitting Videos:
  • Videos should be uploaded to YouTube and saved as a public video.

ii. A link to the YouTube video should be added to the application question that says, “Add your facilitation video link here, if applicable.”

iii. Be sure the link is accessible to public view.

Uploading your video : Please upload your video to YouTube. This will require you to create an account if you don’t already have one. A link to the YouTube video should be added to the application question that says, “Add your facilitation video link here, if applicable.”

Notification

Due to high volume of applicants we will notify candidates of interviews, and offers no later than January 31st if your qualifications match our needs. We will not reach out to collect missing pieces of your application. We will not accept any applications via email outside of the application system If you have a question about the status of your application and have not been notified by January 31st email wlc@ffa.org.

Note: If you have worked for the National FFA Organization as a conference trainer for the State Officer Continuum, Member Leadership Series or have served as a National FFA Officer within the previous three years and completed your employment in good standing, you need not submit a video. A resume and completed application are required for all applicants. Being a returning staff does not guarantee your consideration for this position.
