Job Summary
This position is responsible for taking photographs of university facilities, people, and events.
MAJOR DUTIES
Takes photographs of special events at all university campuses.
Photographs university buildings, grounds, and other properties.
Takes portraits of university students, faculty, and staff.
Takes photographs in support of university marketing efforts.
Monitors new trends in the industry and makes recommendations concerning changes to current procedures and technology.
Uses 360 degree photographic techniques to develop campus images for the website.
Edits, manipulates, archives, and distributes images.
Purchases and maintains equipment and software.
Trains students and staff in the proper use of equipment and software.
Performs related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Communications Director assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include digital photo ethics and university policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
The work consists of varied photography duties. Short-notice deadlines contribute to the complexity of the position.
The purpose of this position is to take and develop photographs in support of university communication and marketing efforts. Success in this position contributes to the effective communication of information to the general public and to interested parties.

Contacts are typically with co-workers, other university personnel, faculty, staff, students, other photography professionals, and members of the general public.
Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, to resolve problems, or to provide services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending or crouching. The employee frequently lifts light and occasionally heavy objects, and climbs ladders.
The work is typically performed in an office and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The employee is exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, and irritating chemicals.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
This position has direct supervision over student workers and interns as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Annual salary $43,896.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.
