Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Design, develop, conduct unit test, and maintain microservices for scalability, manageability, extensibility, performance, and re-use.
Provide guidance for designing and implementing the services/APIs to support business requirements
Provide expertise to design and develop solutions on cloud platform, preferably on AWS.
Provide technical expertise in areas of AWS.
A solid understanding of SQL, relational database management system, data modelling, and normalization.
Provide technical leadership to an agile team of 5-7 and Work with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements & vision
Demonstrate awareness of industry trends and domain expertise
Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
Demonstrate ability to influence customers and project managers through persuasion and influencing
Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
Qualifications/Requirements
A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in software development with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
Proven expertise (5+ years) in Python with Object Oriented experience, with knowledge of at least one Python web framework.
Understanding of the threading limitations of Python, multi-process architecture, Python data structures, and Python packaging
Expert (4+ years) in implementing cloud solutions [AWS] with Python
Strong debugging and unit testing skills using a well-known and accepted unit testing framework
Proficient (4+ years) understanding of Database queries
Expertise (4+ yrs) in Microservices design (with Python)
Knowledge in distributed systems programming
Knowledge with message-driven architectures
Knowledge of Python frameworks (e.g: Flask, Django)
In-depth knowledge (3+ years) in RESTful API design and implementation
Advanced experience with or knowledge of SQL Server DBMS, PL/SQL
Expertise with Source Configuration Management (Git, Gitlab)
Business Acumen:
Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems
Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry trends
Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices
Leadership:
Ability to takes ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members
Ensures understanding of issues and presents clear rationale. Able to speak to mutual needs and win-win solutions. Uses two-way communication to influence outcomes and ongoing results
Identifies misalignments with goals, objectives, and work direction against the organizational strategy. Makes suggestions to course correct
Continuously measures deliverables of self and team against scheduled commitments. Effectively balances different, competing objectives
