Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), Kaseya Careers, PL

Overview: 

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced SDET to join our QA team. This role involves a balanced mix of manual and automated testing, focusing on ensuring the highest quality in our web and API-based applications. You'll work closely with developers, manual testers, DevOps, and product teams to improve testing efficiency, system reliability, and deployment confidence. 

Skills & Experience: 

• 6+ years of experience in QA, at least 4 years in test automation for web applications and APIs 

• Strong background in manual testing of web, REST APIs, and backend systems 

• Proficiency in Java for writing and maintaining automated tests 

• Experience with TestNG, Cucumber, and Selenium for UI testing 

• Solid understanding of API testing using tools like Postman and RestAssured 

• Familiarity with Allure or similar tools for test result reporting 

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitHub Actions) 

• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies 

• Solid grasp of Agile/Scrum workflows 

• Experience working with issue tracking and documentation tools like Jira, Zephyr, Confluence 

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including use of browser developer tools and log analysis 

• Ability to prioritize and manage tasks in a fast-paced, collaborative environment 

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English 

 

Responsibilities: 

Test Automation: 

• Design, develop, and maintain automated UI and API test scripts 

• Enhance and extend the existing automation framework 

• Execute automated regression, smoke, and integration test suites 

• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD workflows 

Manual Testing: 

• Create and execute test plans and detailed test cases for new features and regression coverage 

• Perform exploratory, functional, and cross-browser/platform testing 

• Validate backend behavior using logs, databases, and API responses 

Quality & Process: 

• Review and interpret automation test reports 

• Track and manage bugs using Jira, ensuring timely resolution in collaboration with developers 

• Contribute to test strategy, planning, and QA documentation updates 

• Collaborate with developers and DevOps to improve testability and system observability 

• Help define and track QA metrics (e.g., test coverage, pass rate, defect density) 

Collaboration: 

• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient testing processes 

• Support junior QA engineers by reviewing test cases, offering guidance, and promoting best practices 

• Participate in code reviews related to automation
