VetsEZ is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to support the modernization and sustainment of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) VetPro credentialing system. This role will contribute to full lifecycle development of a secure, scalable, and cloud-hosted application used across the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). The ideal candidate will possess deep experience in both front-end and back-end development, cloud-native architecture, and Agile delivery within federal healthcare environments.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack application components using ASP.NET MVC, C#, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, and SQL Server.
- Refactor legacy code and contribute to modernization efforts targeting deployment in VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC).
- Build responsive and accessible user interfaces that comply with Section 508 standards.
- Develop secure APIs and backend services to support credentialing workflows and data exchange with external systems (e.g., NPDB, FSMB).
- Collaborate with DevSecOps teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release coordination.
- Support system documentation efforts including technical specifications, data flow diagrams, and security artifacts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across development, staging, and production environments.
- Ensure compliance with VA Handbook 6500 and other federal security and privacy standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in full-stack development, including both front-end and back-end technologies.
- Strong proficiency in ASP.NET MVC, C#, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, and SQL Server.
- Experience with cloud-native development and deployment in Azure or similar environments.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Git, and Jenkins.
- Understanding of secure coding practices and federal compliance requirements.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience supporting credentialing systems or healthcare IT platforms.
- Knowledge of VA systems such as VetPro, VistA, or VX130.
- Familiarity with Azure services including App Services, Key Vault, and Application Insights.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and DevSecOps pipelines.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, SAFe Practitioner, or equivalent.
