Senior Associate, Process Management

General Responsibilities: 

• Monitor and optimize technical processes, identifying and resolving bottlenecks, dependencies, and potential points of failure within complex systems.

• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and technical teams to understand system architecture, data flows, and technical dependencies to inform process design and improvements.

• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise process documentation and communications for diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.

• Leverage data and technical metrics to analyze process performance, identify areas for automation or improvement, and drive quantifiable efficiencies in technical workflows.

• Participate in technical design discussions and reviews to ensure process considerations are integrated early in the development lifecycle.

• Draft, test and revise work instructions, gain relevant approvals and ensure regular reviews take place. 

• May develop project plans to execute process development and/or re-engineering. 

Basic Qualifications: 

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification 

• At least 1 year of experience working with technical teams (e.g., software engineering, data science, infrastructure)

• At least 2 years of experience in Business Process Management, Project Management, Relationship Management or Risk Management 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree or military experience 

• Lean or Six Sigma certification

• Demonstrated understanding of fundamental technical concepts (e.g., API interactions, data structures, system integrations).

• Experience with executing scripts in SQL and/or other scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for data analysis or process automation.

• Experience with technical documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira) and diagramming tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart) for complex technical workflows.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) in a technical development environment.

• Certification in relevant technical areas or platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
