Senior Analyst, FP&A, Artemis, CA, US

Job Description

We are seeking a sharp, analytically driven FP&A Manager to be the first FP&A hire in a rapidly growing venture. This is a unique opportunity for a finance professional with 4–6 years of experience to build the FP&A function from the ground up, define key performance metrics, and serve as a strategic advisor to the CFO. This is not a reporting-only role — this is for someone who loves to figure things out, can translate numbers into action, and deeply understands how accounting flows into financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and co-manage the company’s financial planning and analysis functions including budgeting, forecasting, reforecasting, variance analysis, financial reviews, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and monthly performance reporting across the different product lines and operations.
  • Partner directly with the CFO to translate financial insights into strategic decisions.
  • Create and manage budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning models, including scenario analysis.
  • Work closely with accounting to understand how transactions are booked and how they flow into the P&L.
  • Proactively identify trends, risks, anomalies, and opportunities — and communicate them with clarity.
  • Support ad hoc analysis, business case modeling, and “what-if” scenarios to support operational and growth decisions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting, operations, and clinic leadership to provide financial insight at the unit level.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A or a blend of FP&A and accounting.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or other quantitative fields.
  • Experience working within manufacturing environments or similar, analyzing operational finance related to costs, labor, inventory, etc.
  • Not just a report builder — a problem solver who can connect the dots and ask, “What’s wrong with this picture?”
  • Highly analytical with strong Excel modeling skills; familiarity with financial systems and BI tools is a plus.
  • Clear communicator who applies structured thinking (e.g., Bain’s Pyramid Principle) in presentations and analysis.
  • Someone energized by the individual contributor role — you’ll be rolling up your sleeves.
  • Proactive, curious, and intellectually sharp — someone who thrives on figuring things out.
