About the Role
We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead and scale our Security Operations Automation and AI-driven engineering functions. This is a senior leadership role at the intersection of cybersecurity, AI agents, and intelligent automation, where you will drive innovation and execution for next-generation Security Operations capabilities.
Your teams will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling cloud-native, AI-powered, and autonomous systems that redefine how Security Operations Centers (SOCs) operate. From agentic frameworks, reasoning systems, and ML optimization to system test, automation, and detection-as-code pipelines, you will guide strategy, build exceptional teams, and deliver technical excellence at scale.
This role requires a visionary leader with deep technical expertise and proven experience building high-performing engineering organizations in cybersecurity and AI/SaaS domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Define and execute the long-term engineering strategy for Security Operations Automation with a focus on AI, intelligent agents, and large-scale automation.
- Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional leaders (Product, Research, Threat Intelligence, Security Operations, Data Science) to align engineering priorities with business outcomes.
- Team Building & People Leadership
- Build, scale, and inspire a world-class engineering organization with a focus on hiring, mentoring, and retaining top technical talent.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability across global teams.
- AI & Security Engineering
- Lead the design and delivery of AI-powered automation systems, including reasoning agents, MCP (Model Context Protocol) integrations, LangChain/LangGraph-based frameworks, and autonomous task execution engines.
- Drive innovation in machine learning optimization, detection pipelines, and autonomous decision-making to accelerate incident response and reduce manual SOC workloads.
- Oversee the development of secure, scalable, and reliable software in a SaaS environment, leveraging containers, Kubernetes, and cloud-native platforms.
- Technical Excellence & Execution
- Own end-to-end delivery of automation and AI-driven features: response playbooks, enrichment services, agent-based orchestration, and intelligent testing frameworks.
- Ensure engineering quality, scalability, and operational excellence through best practices in architecture, agile methodologies, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate on integrating AI/ML with system test and automation functions to validate SOC workflows at scale.
About You
- Experience
- 15+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience, with at least 5+ years at a Director or higher level.
- Proven background in cybersecurity, SaaS platforms, and cloud-native engineering.
- Strong track record of building and leading large, distributed engineering organizations.
- Technical Expertise
- Deep experience in AI/ML, agentic systems, reasoning frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph), MCP, and optimization techniques.
- Hands-on familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, distributed systems, and network security.
- Strong programming knowledge across C, C++, Python, Golang, and scripting languages.
- Proven experience designing and deploying AI-driven automation and testing frameworks.
- Leadership & Vision
- Ability to translate business strategy into technical vision and execution plans.
- Skilled at influencing executive stakeholders while maintaining strong technical credibility.
- Committed to building an inclusive, high-performance engineering culture.
- Other
- Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and modern DevSecOps practices.
- Strong awareness of emerging cybersecurity threats and defensive strategies.
