Senior Director of Operations – Metals

We’re looking for a Senior Director of Operations with Metals experience for our client’s large metal operation. This leadership role will lead manufacturing with a Safety 1st & people-focused approach.

Must be a resident of the US and a citizen or have a valid green card.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• 10+ years of leadership in metal manufacturing with multi-site experience.
• Change Management experience
• SPC experience
• Experience leading 700+ employees & $400M+ revenue.
• Proven success in lean transformations, performance turnarounds, and 24/7 operations.
• Strong floor presence; builds trust, accountability, and high-performing teams.
• Strategic thinker with exceptional execution and organizational alignment skills.
• A leader who cares about the workforce, employee engagement & training.
• Union experience is a plus.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering highly preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead all production, maintenance, quality, logistics, and engineering.
• Align operations with corporate goals and market demands.
• Drive lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Set and manage KPIs for productivity, cost, quality, delivery, and safety.
• Foster a safety-first, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
• Mentor plant leaders and frontline supervisors.
• Build scalable systems for growth and automation.
• Maintain strong union relations where applicable.
• Work with commercial teams to meet customer needs.
• Provide operational and cost insights for business strategy.
• Lead capital investments for facility upgrades and new technologies.
