Job Summary:

This role will serve as a key leader in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations

Managing the monthly close, and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting
-
The Senior Accounting Manager will also play a critical role in strengthening internal controls, supporting audits, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and support business growth.
Education And Experience
-
Requires Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.
-
7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
Required Skills And Abilities
-
Proven track record in month-end close management, audit support, and internal controls.

Hands-on experience with ERP systems; advanced Excel skills required.

Experience in manufacturing and project-based accounting environments preferred.

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work across functions.

Requirements
Accounting Operations
-
Oversee daily accounting activities including general ledger, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, accounts payable, payroll, and revenue recognition.

Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation policies, and oversee intercompany transactions and reconciliations.

Manage and supervise all AR/AP cycles with external partners and customers, including the implementation of accounting and billing systems and controls.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
-
Prepare and review internal and external financial reports, variance analyses, and management reporting packages.

Support audit readiness, serving as a contact for external auditors and managing annual audit deliverables.

Ensure compliance with US GAAP, DFARS compliance, and company accounting policies.
-
Oversee tax compliance processes including sales/use tax, property tax, and regulatory filings.
Controls & Process Improvement

Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to strengthen compliance.

Identify and drive process improvements, automation opportunities, and system enhancements to improve efficiency and scalability.

Document and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
Business Partnership

Collaborate with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Partner with Operations, People Team, and Supply Chain to align accounting processes with business needs.

Provide financial insights to leadership on cash flow, project margins, and cost efficiency.
Team Leadership

Mentor, coach, and develop a team of accounting staff.

Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Ability to quickly motivate the team and build loyalty and camaraderie; easily builds relationship across all levels.

Travel Requirements
Occasional travel between facilities, as business needs require.

Work Environment

Some exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles - eye protection is required, and fumes, machine vibration, and noisy conditions, high temperatures, and occasional to a restricted space work area. All Keel locations are tobacco free where appropriate.
