Now, we’re searching for a Section Manager – MCAD, Drafting & Product Definition to lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team driving innovation across our engineering programs.

What You will do:

  • Lead and develop a team of MCAD drafters across multiple sites, ensuring precision and excellence in documenting mechanical designs.
  • Drive operational excellence: manage schedules, solve complex challenges, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Oversee accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of documentation, supported by the right design tools and best practices.
  • Define objectives, processes, and performance metrics that elevate both people and projects.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business units on tasks, initiatives, and integration projects.
  • Build future capability: recruit, mentor, and shape the next generation of engineering talent.
  • Safeguard knowledge sharing and controlled IP reuse across teams.
  • Manage budgets, investigate quality issues, and implement sustainable corrective actions.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • 2+ years of experience in managing programs/projects within a highly matrixed organization, including successfully leading a group of engineers/drafters/designers under technical guidance.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven ability to motivate, mentor, and develop teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing across functions, building alignment, and presenting complex technical information clearly.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with a track record of driving solutions in high-stakes, fast-paced environments.
  • Solid organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of CAD/MCAD tools and processes, and familiarity with documentation standards.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Background in Mechanical Engineering or Technical Drafting, ideally with aerospace industry experience.
  • Proven ability to design career development paths that keep teams’ future ready.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, ASME/ANSI Y14 standards, and product definition practices.
  • Hands-on experience in 3D modeling with CAD tools (NX, Teamcenter).
  • A collaborative leadership style, focused on both results and people.
