Job Summary:

The Sales Operations Analyst/Planner will be a hands-on contributor focused on tactical sales operations, data analysis, and customer-facing demand planning to support ’ global sales performance. Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain Operations (Karla Pearlstein), this role will focus on interacting with customers, extracting and analyzing data, building reports and visualizations, and presenting actionable insights to department heads, sales teams, and customers (both internal and external stakeholders). This position is designed for a detail-oriented, analytical “doer” who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is comfortable working extended hours, including evenings and Sunday nights (to align with Monday mornings in Asia), to support global operations. The ideal candidate is not focused on managing others but excels at executing analytical and operational tasks with a proactive, results-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Interaction and Demand Planning:

  • Engage directly with customers to collect forecasts, understand demand trends, and align on expectations to support accurate sales planning.
  • Analyze customer-provided forecasts against actual performance, identifying trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with sales and supply chain teams to ensure customer needs are met while aligning with operational and profitability goals.

Data Extraction, Analysis, and Reporting:

  • Extract and consolidate sales and operational data from various sources (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, CRM tools) to build accurate and actionable reports.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive sales performance dashboards and graphs using tools like Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, Power Query) and Power BI to deliver insights to internal teams and external customers.
  • Analyze sales KPIs, including forecast accuracy, pipeline health, and performance trends, to provide actionable insights for department heads, sales teams, and customers.
  • Perform data cleaning, consolidation, and month-end reconciliations to ensure data integrity for reporting and decision-making.

Actionable Insights and Presentation:

  • Glean actionable insights from data analysis to inform strategic decisions, optimize sales outcomes, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Present findings and recommendations to department heads, sales teams, and customers through clear, concise reports and visualizations.
  • Support cross-functional teams by developing visibility tools, such as dashboards for transportation and inventory trends, to enhance decision-making.

Process Optimization and System Support:

  • Support the standardization of sales operations processes, including data collection, forecasting workflows, and integration with CRM/ERP systems, to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist in system cleanup efforts to maintain high-quality sales data, addressing inconsistencies and reducing manual workarounds.
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of SOPs for sales operations workflows, ensuring seamless collaboration with sales, procurement, and logistics teams.
  • Support the transition of forecasting processes from Excel to ERP systems (e.g., Apprise) as needed, ensuring data accuracy and process efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Build strong relationships with sales, procurement, and supply chain teams to align on business objectives and customer needs.
  • Act as a tactical support to the Director of Supply Chain Operations, ensuring cohesive execution of sales and supply chain strategies.
  • Occasionally travel to meet with key customers or global factories to strengthen relationships and ensure alignment with operational goals.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Commit to tested workflows to ensure process stability, minimizing mid-project changes and addressing inefficiencies.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements through data analysis and operational insights.
  • Stay informed on market trends and customer needs through occasional participation in industry events or trade shows (at least one annually).

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in sales operations, supply chain analytics, demand planning, or related fields, with a focus on hands-on data analysis and customer interaction.
  • Proven track record of extracting, analyzing, and presenting data to drive actionable insights in a business environment.
  • Experience in demand planning or inventory management for major e-commerce/retail platforms (e.g., Amazon, Walmart) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with global supply chains, including collaboration with international factories for production and transportation, is desirable.
  • Experience working with top-tier customers or brands in industries such as retail, airline, or food service is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, Power Query) and Power BI for report and dashboard creation.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau (even at beginner level) or similar for creating actionable dashboards and reports.
  • Demonstrated ability in data cleaning, consolidation, and month-end reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
  • Familiarity with forecasting techniques and statistical modeling, with experience in demand sensing or scenario planning being a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers, present insights, and collaborate with internal teams.
  • Proactive, results-driven mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems, especially Apprise for DRP/forecast maintenance, is a significant plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with project management tools like Wrike, Asana, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Comfortable working extended hours, including evenings and Sunday nights, to align with global operations.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPIM) are a plus but not required.
