Summary:   The Appraiser Review Analyst is responsible for reviewing appraisal reports on 1-4 family homes to ensure their quality and accuracy as well as compliance with the Uniform Standard of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), applicable regulatory requirements, Webster Bank’s appraisal policies and guidelines, and generally accepted appraisal practices. The Analyst will focus on reviews of high-risk and complex properties collateralizing high dollar loans. They will assist the Appraisal Manager on current appraisal and appraisal review issues and quality control reviews of the first line Appraisal Review team.

Key responsibilities for the role:

• Perform written reviews on appraisals on 1-4 family homes to ensure compliance with USPAP, regulatory agencies, generally accepted appraisal practices, and the Bank’s appraisal policies and procedures.
• The Analyst will focus on reviews of high-risk and complex properties collateralizing high dollar loans. 
• Support the Appraisal Review team by reviewing more complex appraisals and appraisals for high-risk properties. Since no member of the Appraisal Review team is a certified appraiser, you will be responsible for assisting in their education and helping them with appraisal reviews that exceed their skill set.
• Assist the Appraisal Manager in with the QC of reviews completed by the first line Appraisal Reviewers.

Key skills/experience qualifications for the role:

• State Real Estate Appraiser Certification
• 5+ years combined residential appraisal and review experience
• Knowledge of FNMA appraisal guidelines
• Preferred FHA/HUD panel approved appraiser and experience reviewing FHA/HUD reports
• Familiar with real estate markets throughout Webster Bank’s footprint
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, write reports and correspondence.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excellent

Position will be on a Hybrid schedule. Candidate must be able to go into the NY, NJ, MA or CT office three days a week.
