Proofreader, Robert Half, CA, US

We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Proofreader to join our team part-time on a contract basis. Based in Long Beach, California, this role requires strong skills in proofreading, copy editing, and ensuring content accuracy across various formats. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality materials.

Responsibilities:

• Review and edit written materials, including brochures, websites, and social media content, for accuracy and consistency.

• Ensure adherence to AP Style and other specified guidelines throughout all content.

• Collaborate with team members to maintain brand consistency and tone across various platforms.

• Utilize Adobe Acrobat and other tools to track and manage proofreading tasks effectively.

• Identify and correct grammatical, typographical, and formatting errors in all materials.

• Test and verify content functionality, particularly in digital formats.

• Support case management processes by ensuring documentation is clear and error-free.

• Maintain a highly organized approach to managing multiple proofreading projects simultaneously.

• Provide constructive feedback to writers and designers to improve overall content quality.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in proofreading or copy editing with a focus on detail.
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and other editing tools.
• Strong understanding of AP Style and other editorial standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot errors quickly.
• Familiarity with proofreading for digital platforms, including websites and social media.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide feedback.
• Tech-savvy with the ability to adapt to new tools and processes as needed.
