About The Position
In this role, you’ll support the daily operations of Maricopa County Parks and Recreation through a variety of administrative, financial, and procurement tasks. From tracking and maintaining park assets and inventory to processing purchase requests and managing accounts payable/receivable, your work will help keep our systems accurate and our parks running smoothly.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys organized, detail-oriented work with a meaningful impact. You’ll play a behind-the-scenes yet essential role in making sure the right supplies, equipment, and resources are available when and where they’re needed.
You’ll also interact with park staff, vendors, finance, and procurement teams, gaining insight into multiple aspects of park operations. With delegated spending authority under the County’s CAPA Program, your work will directly support efficient spending and responsible resource management.

We Require

Three years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: clerical accounting, bookkeeping, specialized administrative support, or purchasing functions. Of those three years, at least two years must include direct responsibility for managing physical assets and inventory

High school diploma or GED

Job Contributions

Maintains an accurate, up-to-date inventory of park assets—including buildings, equipment, land, trails, and fleet—by identifying, tracking, updating attributes, and resolving discrepancies

Oversees fleet management, including vehicle acquisition, utilization, maintenance, and fuel tracking

Ensures all asset records comply with County and department policies

Collaborates with department staff and other County agencies on asset management and related activities
-
Conducts inspections to verify asset data and supports the annual capital asset inventory process by processing verification requests
-
Develops contract specifications under Title 3 Procurement Code by researching and consulting with customers and vendors
-
Utilizes County purchasing systems to create purchase orders, bid documents, specifications, correspondence, and other procurement paperwork
-
Analyzes data and compiles purchase orders, resolving delivery complaints and issues; establishes and maintains organized vendor, procurement, and contract files; and reviews purchase requisitions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with County purchasing and record retention policies

Processes payments, billings, journal vouchers, and performs accounts receivable duties

Maintains and reconciles accounting and financial records by compiling transactions, posting to general and subsidiary ledgers, auditing budgetary and expenditure documents, and preparing monthly closings and annual financial reports
