Position Overview
The Onboarding Specialist plays a vital role in creating a seamless and engaging experience for all new hires, both clinical and non-clinical. This role ensures employees transition smoothly into the organization by coordinating required documentation, compliance processes, and internal communications. Acting as the primary point of contact, the Onboarding Specialist helps new team members feel welcomed, supported, and prepared for success in their roles, while also ensuring all organizational, regulatory, and operational requirements are met.

Compensation:
$48,880.00 – 58,656.00/annually, with additional annual bonus potential

Key Responsibilities
Onboarding Coordination
-
Manage the end-to-end onboarding process for new hires across clinical and non-clinical roles.

Facilitate background checks, I-9, and completion of necessary documentation.

Partner with Recruiting, Credentialing, Operations, and others as needed to ensure timely onboarding and Day 1 readiness.

Track progress against onboarding milestones and proactively follow up with hires and stakeholders.
New Hire Experience

Serve as the main point of contact for new employees during the pre-hire and onboarding period.

Conduct welcome sessions, orientation calls, and check-ins to build engagement and answer questions.

Provide clear communication and guidance on next steps, expectations, and resources.
Compliance & Documentation

Adhere to all onboarding standards and workflows

Maintain detailed records in HRIS/ATS systems (e.g., Workday, Salesforce, or similar)
Collaboration & Communication

Partner with cross-functional teams including Recruiting, Credentialing, Operations, and others as needed to ensure a smooth transition for each new hire.

Share timely updates with hiring managers and leadership regarding onboarding progress and potential barriers.
Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to enhance onboarding efficiency, consistency, and employee experience.

Contribute to the development of best practices, tools, and resources for onboarding.

Stay informed of trends and compliance requirements in behavioral health and healthcare onboarding.
Qualifications
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred.

An additional 4 years of highly relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
Experience
-
1+ years of experience in onboarding, HR, recruiting coordination, credentialing, or healthcare administration (behavioral health or healthcare strongly preferred).

Familiarity with HRIS/ATS systems (Workday, Salesforce, or comparable platforms).
