Marketing Director, Cellistic, US

Job Description

About the Company

Are you passionate about shaping the future of biotech through powerful storytelling and scientific communication? Do you thrive at the intersection of science, strategy, and commercial growth? As Marketing Director at Cellistic, you will play a pivotal role in defining and amplifying the company’s global voice—positioning our pioneering work in induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and cell therapy innovation at the forefront of the life sciences community.

Cellistic is growing fast, and we are looking for driven team members who believe in the transformative power of engineered cells as medicines, who challenge the status quo, and who thrive on turning bold ideas into impactful results.

About the Role

As Marketing Director, you will own the global marketing strategy — from brand positioning and scientific messaging to digital campaigns and international events—ensuring alignment with our commercial priorities and business development objectives. This role offers the opportunity to blend strategic vision with hands-on execution, building a high-performing marketing function that drives visibility, lead generation, and measurable business impact. The position involves regular interaction with teams in both Europe and the U.S., requiring adaptable working hours to cover both regions.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Commercial Alignment

  • Define and execute the overarching marketing strategy aligned with company growth objectives, pipeline priorities, and ROI goals.
  • Translate business objectives into actionable marketing plans, campaigns, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with the CCO, Business Development, and Sales teams to ensure marketing directly supports lead generation and sales enablement.

Branding & Scientific Messaging

  • Own and safeguard the company’s brand voice, positioning, and consistency across all channels and customer-facing materials.
  • Ensure scientific accuracy and audience relevance in messaging, working closely with internal subject-matter experts.
  • Oversee creation of technical and scientific collateral (presentations, white papers, case studies, brochures, web assets).

Campaign Strategy & Digital Marketing

  • Design and oversee multi-channel marketing campaigns (email, social media, paid search, website, SEO).
  • Ensure timely execution in collaboration with the Marketing Associate/Coordinator.
  • Monitor ROI, engagement, and conversion rates, iterating strategies for performance optimization.
  • Build internal digital marketing capability to minimize reliance on outsourcing.

Events, Conferences & Scientific Engagement

  • Plan and manage participation in global conferences, trade shows, and scientific events.
  • Define event objectives, messaging, booth setup, and lead capture workflows.
  • Ensure alignment with broader commercial and scientific engagement strategies.

CRM & Marketing Analytics

  • Oversee CRM hygiene and marketing automation systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
  • Define and monitor marketing KPIs (MQL criteria, campaign ROI, engagement metrics).
  • Provide regular reporting to the CCO and leadership team on marketing impact.

Agency & Vendor Management

  • Select, manage, and evaluate external marketing agencies, vendors, and freelance partners.
  • Ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with brand and business priorities.
  • Negotiate contracts and monitor deliverables.

Budget Management

  • Own and track marketing budget allocation across campaigns, events, digital activities, and agency partnerships.
  • Ensure budget efficiency and measurable ROI from all investments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the marketing liaison for Business Development, Project Management, Technical, and Quality teams.
  • Co-develop campaigns and messaging with subject-matter experts.
  • Align marketing with BD priorities for CRISPR licensing, partnerships, and collaborations.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the Marketing Associate/Coordinator.
  • Provide training in campaign execution, CRM systems, and scientific content creation.
  • Build a results-driven, collaborative, and growth-oriented commercial team culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field (Masters or MBA preferred).
  • 8–12+ years of marketing experience, including 3–5 in leadership.
  • Background in biotech, life sciences, or CDMO marketing strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record in integrated marketing strategy, brand positioning, and campaign execution.
  • Ability to translate complex scientific and technical offerings into compelling brand assets without heavy reliance on external support.
  • Hands-on expertise in digital marketing, SEO/SEM, CRM/automation, and analytics tools.
  • Experience managing budgets, agencies, and vendors.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent communication—able to translate complex science into compelling messaging.
  • Organized, data-driven, and effective at juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
