Lead Software Engineer
$130,000-$200,000 Base Salary, Position eligible for additional incentives including bonus, 401k match, health and welfare benefits.
Hybrid, 2-days onsite/3-days remote in Atlanta, San Diego, or Orlando.
FairSquare (FS) is creating a new, state-of-the-art digital lending company, smallbusinessloans.com (SBL). SBL will launch fully digital lending offering targeted to SMBs seeking an automated loan experience. The company will differentiate itself from competitors via superior technology, risk management, data science, a fully digital UI, and a customer-first experience that emphasizes ease of use, fairness and transparency in pricing, and recognition of customer loyalty.
In order to maximize speed-to-market and efficiency, SBL intends to leverage the availability state-of-the art technology service providers and platforms. At the same time, SBL will build a robust set of modules around these platforms that will serve to differentiate SBL’s offerings in the marketplace and to its customers.
Major Responsibilities:
· Partner with Product Managers in Grooming and Sprint Planning ceremonies, collect and measure team and individual productivity data from JIRA, keep the leadership team informed on your team’s progress in ways that are easy and enjoyable to receive.
· Take a data-driven approach to holding engineering team accountable for both individual and team productivity and performance. Build rapport with each member of the Engineering team and support them through coaching and mentorship to help level up their productivity.
· Participate in code reviews, learning and spreading technical knowledge throughout National Funding, moving knowledge to documentation where appropriate.
· Collaborate across various disciplines (Product, IT, Business Intelligence, Data Science) to help set technical roadmaps that will achieve business goals through engineering best practices.
· Actively recruit, onboard, and train new engineers; improve the skills portions of interviews, creating better onboarding process documentation.
· Roughly 70/30 split between management/hand-on-coding. Hands-on coding duties to be undertaken only when necessary to ensure reasonable delivery timelines are met.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or engineering-related discipline.
· 7+ years of related technology experience.
· Solid experience in developing highly scalable and reliable web service applications, including integration with internal and external systems.
· Experience creating and consuming web services.
· Professional working knowledge of major frameworks: .NET and ReactJS preferred.
· Solid knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices, preferably Agile.
· Willing to wear many hats and collaborate with non-technical finance types
