Intermediate Project Manager, The Boundary, NZ

Job Description

Are you an organised and driven Project Manager with an interest in 3D, architecture and/or property development? Do you want to use your skills to help deliver high-profile projects from start to finish? If so, we're looking for an Intermediate Project Manager to join our team.

This is a great chance to work in a fast-paced environment where you'll report directly to the Head of Production. You'll be responsible for making sure our production planning is executed seamlessly. You'll work on a variety of projects, gaining valuable experience and growing your skills with the support of a senior team. If you thrive on managing project timelines, fostering strong team collaboration and ensuring every project is a success, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As our Intermediate Project Manager, you'll be the backbone of our projects, handling everything from initial planning to final delivery. You'll be the go-to person for keeping projects on track, on budget and running smoothly.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Project Planning & Preparation: Assist in the successful setup of high-profile projects. This includes understanding project scope, fee negotiations, and appointment terms. You'll be responsible for organising project kick-off meetings and initiating the project approach (systems, tools and communication channels) to ensure the wider studio is aligned with the agreed-upon scope.
  • Project Infrastructure: Create and maintain digital platforms throughout the project development and execution. You'll ensure all documentation is secured and keep future and current projects up to date with the latest data and assets.
  • Meetings, Scope & Backlog Management: Schedule and facilitate all project meetings, including pre-planning sessions, sprints, stand-ups and retrospectives. You'll work with Senior Leads to implement best practices for grooming and maintaining the project backlog and task list. You'll also be responsible for identifying any potential scope creep and helping to issue change requests.
  • Resource Scheduling: Make sure our project management and resource tools, including Kantata, are updated with the correct teams. You will manage freelance and contractor availability and allocation on projects, ensuring a robust link between project management and finance for revenue and margin calculations.
  • Team Performance: Drive, encourage and foster teamwork while effectively resolving conflicts. You'll work to remove obstacles and escalate issues when necessary. You'll produce status updates and monitor progress on all deliverables, preparing and presenting corrective action proposals where needed.
  • Project Monitoring & Closure: In collaboration with the relevant studio talent, you will produce status updates and burndowns. You'll monitor progress to ensure jobs are completed on time and deliverables are met. At the end of a project, you'll be responsible for archiving project channels and ensuring all final signed-off deliverables are on the correct channels.
