Deputy Operations Manager
The Mall Athens

Our new colleague will be reporting to the Operations Manager of TMA for the effective daily operation of the Center by organizing, planning and addressing the needs and the procedures of the Operations Department.

Indicatively, the Deputy Operations Manager will assume the following tasks:

  • Support the Operations Manager in organizing, planning and addressing the needs and the procedures of the Operations Department
  • Coordinate the daily operation of the shopping center, including the parking area
  • Effectively co-manages and develops the technical team of the Shopping Center
  • Support the Operations Manager in negotiating and conducting a number of contracts with service providers, suppliers and contractors including gardening, waste management, pest control, building repairs, procurement of equipment and consumables
  • Support in the drafting and the implementation of the yearly operations budgets (invoice control, cost centers, etc)
  • Supervise effectively Safety &Security, Cleaning and other service providers to ensure delivery of services of a high standard. Ensuring that all installations, machinery etc. are being effectively and efficiently maintained by third party contractors and in-house personnel
  • Monitor and challenges the safety standards of the Shopping Center on a daily basis
  • Communicate with tenants for all technical and operational issues that arise every day, as well as during the refurbishment, construction and operation of the tenancies. Cares that relationships with tenants focus on customer satisfaction, ensuring that all relevant procedures regarding smooth and safe operations are being followed effectively
  • Challenge the allocation of resources, addresses mispractices and initiate good practices for a greater cause (e.g. green policies)

You will be a successful candidate for our job opening, if you can identify yourself with the following criteria:

Academic Qualifications:

  • University degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering (AEI), Postgraduate studies (eg. MSc/MBA) would be considered an asset
  • Fluency in Greek and English language
  • Advanced business writing and verbal communication skills both in Greek and English
  • PC literate

Professional Experience:

  • 5 - 7 years of relevant professional experience
  • Prior experience in facility management, building operation and/or construction will be considered a plus
  • Experience in laying out reports by converting business requirements in numerical data

On a personal side, the ideal candidate must have:

  • Strong analytical, reporting, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Goal oriented
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people and to adjust the behavior and language register according to the audience
  • Excellent teamwork – communication skills
  • Ability to use initiative and work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to lay out reports by converting business requirements in numerical data
  • Ability to manage a number of projects, meet deadlines
  • Ability to set priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (including weekends-public holidays)
