We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders to create and refine business KPIs and OKRs, develop organizational data mapping, and work closely with the developers of our applications to drive business results. You will bridge the gap between development and business, ensuring a seamless and stable data experience.
As a Data Analyst, you will contribute to both internal and external data analysis. This role will primarily involve customized projects for Rock Island Auction Company. Our development team is integral to our business, and we are looking for a proactive analyst eager to make an impact.
Essential Job Functions

Develop, implement, and maintain leading-edge analytics systems, taking complicated problems and building simple frameworks

Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex datasets

Work directly with managers and users to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships

Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization

Evaluate organizational methods and provide source-to-target mappings and information-model specification documents for datasets

Develop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources, and build scripts that will make our data evaluation process more flexible or scalable across datasets

Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data

Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary development team to meet project objectives

Stay updated with the latest analysis tools, techniques, and methodologies

Apply best practices in software development, including coding standards, security, and reliability considerations

Maintain and update data mapping documentation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
-
Communication Skills: Must have both strong written and verbal communication skills that can be used to translate complex data to organization stakeholders

Analytics Tools: Skilled in data tools such as PowerBI, Tableua, Jupyter Notebook, or other data visualization tools to develop and execute data visualizations

Python/R/SQL: Proficiency in data analytics programming languages

ETL: Strong expertise in extract, transform and load techniques

Version Control: Hands-on experience with Git, GitHub, and Git-Flow

Database Management: Solid understanding of relational data sets

Google Analytics: Experience and understanding of Google Analytics needed to build web analytics reports
Nice-to-Have Skills:

Data Modeling: Experience with database and model design and segmentation techniques

AI/ML: Basic knowledge of AI/ML modeling with LLMs

NLP: Basic knowledge of natural language processing for analyzing large, unstructured datasets

Statistical Packages: Familiarity with Excel, SPSS or SAS

Physical Requirements
Constant sedentary work for prolonged periods up to 100% of the time with routinely moving and transporting up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds. Must be able to travel up to 5% using various modes of transportation including airplane. Must be able to detect, identify, inspect, troubleshoot, test, observe, perceive, and assess web development operations. Must be able to constantly communicate and exchange accurate information. Constantly operates and uses computer and other relevant equipment and office machinery while performing repetitious movements. Constantly works with and around firearms, bladed weaponry, militaria, historic relics, and valuable collectibles.
