About The Role
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team supporting mission-critical operations within the defense sector. The ideal candidate will possess a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and demonstrate a strong background in data analysis, visualization, and operational support. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and interpreting complex datasets from various sources, including social media, cyber logs, and enterprise databases. Your insights will directly influence planning, assessment, and operational decision-making processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams such as MISO, Cyber, MILDEC, OPSEC, and Public Affairs to ensure data-driven strategies are effectively implemented and assessed. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to national security efforts by transforming raw data into actionable intelligence that supports strategic objectives and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a degree in Data Analytics, Information Science, Political Science, or a related field. Prior experience supporting military operations, influence planning, or intelligence activities is essential. Proficiency in SQL and Excel is required, with working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or R considered a plus. Familiarity with data visualization platforms like Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik is necessary for creating effective dashboards and reports. Candidates should have a solid understanding of data validation, normalization, and metadata tagging to ensure high-quality operational reporting. Experience supporting a Combatant Command or Joint Task Force within a J39, J2, or J3 staff is highly desirable. Additionally, experience analyzing social media behavior, message resonance, PSYOP product distribution, and narrative effectiveness will be beneficial. The role requires excellent briefing skills, with the ability to communicate complex findings to senior officers and operational teams clearly and concisely.
Responsibilities
As a Data Analyst, your primary responsibilities will include conducting detailed data analysis to support operational planning and assessment, including measuring campaign effectiveness and impact evaluations. You will translate complex datasets into clear visualizations, dashboards, and narrative reports tailored for planners, leadership, and assessment teams. Identifying trends, anomalies, and engagement patterns across cyber, social media, public affairs, and influence operations datasets will be critical to providing actionable insights. Collaboration with teams such as MISO, Cyber, MILDEC, OPSEC, and Public Affairs is essential to ensure integrated data supports cross-IRC planning and decision-making processes. You will support both real-time and post-operation analysis of influence campaigns and adversary activities within the information environment. Your role involves querying and manipulating data from mission systems, OSINT platforms, and enterprise databases, ensuring data quality and consistency. You will also recommend improvements to data collection, visualization, and assessment metrics, standardize processes, and develop or track Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs) and Measures of Performance (MOPs). Managing existing databases and dashboards, briefing senior leadership on key findings, trends, and campaign impacts, and leveraging analytic tools for social media trend analysis will be integral parts of your duties. Additionally, you will work independently or collaboratively with social scientists and data scientists to refine research designs and incorporate qualitative insights into quantitative analyses.
