Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to join our IT and Security team. This hybrid role is designed for a motivated professional who is passionate about cybersecurity but also flexible enough to assist with day-to-day help desk needs. The ideal candidate will spend the majority of their time focused on security operations, working closely with our managed Security Operations Center (SOC), while providing help desk support when ticket volume or special requests require. This role also offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with networking and firewall management, with training provided to support professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Cybersecurity Responsibilities (Primary Focus)

  • Monitor and respond to alerts from EDR, SIEM, and other security tools.
  • Collaborate with the managed SOC to triage, investigate, and resolve incidents.
  • Conduct initial incident analysis and escalate as needed.
  • Support vulnerability management efforts, including patching coordination and remediation tracking.
  • Assist in maintaining endpoint and network security configurations.
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and lessons learned to improve processes.
  • Contribute to security awareness initiatives by identifying trends in phishing, malware, or other threats.
  • Gain hands-on exposure to firewall administration and networking projects (training provided).

Help Desk Responsibilities (Secondary Focus)

  • Provide Tier 1–2 support for end-user IT issues, including hardware, software, and connectivity.
  • Respond to help desk tickets and ensure timely resolution.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff when appropriate.
  • Assist with user account provisioning, password resets, and access management.
  • Support workstation imaging, patching, and deployment.
  • Help identify recurring issues and recommend improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of IT support and/or cybersecurity experience.
  • Familiarity with EDR, SIEM, and security incident response practices.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, Windows, and Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Security-related certifications (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CEH) preferred but not required.
