Position Summary

The Contract Specialist at FairWind, Inc. is a key contributor to the success of our wind energy projects across North America. This role is responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a wide variety of commercial agreements that support installation, commissioning, service, and operational activities. The Contract Specialist ensures compliance with contractual requirements, manages risk, and provides cross-functional support to FairWind teams throughout the project lifecycle—from planning and mobilization through execution and closeout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including:
    • Subcontractor agreements
    • Master Service Agreements (MSAs)
    • NDAs and vendor contracts
    • Project-specific installation, commissioning, and service agreements
  • Provide contractual support to operations, procurement, and project execution teams to align with FairWind objectives and risk tolerance.
  • Partner with finance, legal, and project management teams to ensure commercial and technical terms are met.
  • Identify and mitigate contractual risks; provide strategic recommendations to management.
  • Ensure compliance with FairWind policies, customer requirements, and applicable industry regulations.
  • Support contract amendments, closeouts, and dispute resolution efforts.
  • Assist with large bids, tenders, and RFP responses during peak workload periods.
  • Manage and support vendor/supplier compliance through platforms such as Avetta, ISNetworld, Ariba, and similar systems.
Working Conditions

  • Hybrid work setup with flexibility for remote work.
  • Occasional travel may be required to FairWind offices, project sites, or vendor locations.

Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in contract management, procurement, or commercial roles—ideally in renewable energy, construction, or industrial services.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. contract law and commercial practices.
  • Familiarity with wind energy project agreements (installation, commissioning, service, and O&M).
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management systems.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting large-scale wind projects or renewable infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific frameworks and customer compliance requirements.
  • Certifications such as NCMA CPCM or paralegal/legal background.
  • Experience with cross-border or international contracts.
