The Opportunity

The Consumer Insights Researcher will work with the Sr Manager Consumer Insights to apply basic and advanced research solutions to support HSN and QVC corporate-wide programs and our needs of multiple teams that could include Marketing, Merchandising, Customer Experience, Digital, and Programming. You will focus on gathering insights from primary research and compiling industry trends from secondary data to inform strategic plans and tactical programs. This is a hybrid position in West Chester, PA.

Your Impact

  • Collect and analyze data to help us understand market trends, consumer behavior, and industry dynamics
  • Help design and implement qualitative and quantitative research methods including surveys, interviews, and focus group studies to gather data on consumer preferences and market conditions
  • Analyze customer feedback data from other internal data sources including staff input, online feedback, product reviews, and social media content
  • Monitor external sources such as business news, government economic data and other market factors to anticipate threats or opportunities for our long-term business strategy
  • Track consumer behavior, market shifts, and emerging technologies to forecast future market trends and sales
  • Synthesize primary and secondary research, looking for patterns, trends, and opportunities in the market. Translate data into comprehensive reports, presentations, and visual aids
  • Work with teams to understand research needs and deliver data-backed insights to support business strategies
  • Collaborate with Consumer Insights team members and other research and reporting teams on complex projects
  • Help create ad-hoc and ongoing reports using Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau
  • Help develop reporting on important metrics to improve the customer experience
  • Participate in communicating research results to business stakeholders
  • Keep up to date with current research trends, methodologies, and industry-specific challenges to ensure research relevance

What You Bring

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field with Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum Experience: 5+ years related work experience in Retail, Market Research, or related field with analytical and business background
  • Experience with MS office suite (PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Knowledge of research methodologies and statistical techniques
  • Understanding of data extraction and analysis tools including Clarabridge, Tableau, SQL, SAS, and Oracle
  • Experience with unstructured data analysis, including text analytics
  • Experience with different statistical methods
  • Experience with secondary sources and use of secondary survey research
  • Experience synthesizing different data sources
  • Experience in presentation of results and translation of complex findings into layman's terms
