The Greenridge Group, a prime contractor and consulting firm specializing in Project and Construction Management is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector, Electrical & IT to join our team. We deliver fully integrated Program management solutions to both public and private sector clients, including serving as the prime contractor for several public sector clients.
About the Role:
The Electrical & IT Inspector will support LAWA’s Quality Assurance & Construction Inspection Division across multiple capital improvement projects. The role requires strong technical expertise in electrical and IT systems, daily inspection reporting, and ensuring compliance with LAWA standards, NFPA codes, and applicable building regulations.
Candidates must hold a current ICC Commercial Electrical Inspector certification and be able to provide proof of NFPA 70E training (within last 3 years) and Cal-OSHA 30-hour training (within last 4 years) prior to assignment.
*Salary Range: $150K/Year-$160K/Year - Dependent on Candidate's Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily inspections of electrical and IT installations across building and terminal projects.
- Review and interpret construction documents (blueprints, shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, submittals).
- Prepare clear, comprehensive daily inspection reports documenting activities, issues, and safety concerns.
- Verify contractor compliance with NEC, NFPA 70, 70E, 72, and LAWA-specific standards.
- Track time-and-material work, field changes, and job quantities.
- Validate contractor progress payment requests against approved schedules.
- Support special inspections and coordinate with contractors, engineers, and third-party agencies.
Areas of Inspection
- Electrical Systems: Underground utilities, duct banks, switchgear, electrical panels, conduit, lighting, fire/life safety systems, lockout/tagout procedures.
- IT Systems: Low-voltage (voice/data, security, access control), card readers, security cameras, P.A. systems, cabling, and equipment rooms.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience performing electrical/IT inspections for building construction.
- ICC Commercial Electrical Inspector certification (required).
- Proof of NFPA 70E training (within 3 years).
- Proof of Cal-OSHA 30-hour training (within 4 years).
- Training/knowledge in NFPA 70, 70E, and 72.
- Fall protection and harness training.
- High school diploma (or equivalent).
- For airfield-related tasks: minimum 3 years of airfield lighting experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Journey-level electrician experience in public works, institutional, commercial, or industrial settings.
- Proven ability to ensure compliance with codes/regulations on large-scale projects.
- Strong communication, report writing, and time management skills.
- Experience coordinating with contractors, engineers, and city officials.
- Knowledge of PM software tools (MS Office, PM Web, Bluebeam, Adobe Pro, etc.).
Additional Requirements
- Must obtain a LAWA SIDA badge prior to official start.
- Must be able to work variable shifts (day, swing, night), weekends, and overtime as required.
