Day to day, you’ll...

Work closely with Compensation leadership, with People & Culture, and management to ensure our compensation programs align with the company’s strategic objectives and market trends. Lead the strategy, development, implementation and ongoing support of innovative and bold compensation solutions within your focus areas where your critical thinking skills will keep our programs modern and effective.

Lead highly-complex, organization-wide compensation projects (including our annual compensation planning cycle) which will rely on your project management acumen and the ability to work through technical solutions with our P&C systems team. Be part of a supportive team of compensation partners, each managing their own departments and programs. And you’ll have the opportunity to mentor more junior team members.

  • Lead the design and administration of compensation and incentive compensation programs that attract, retain, and motivate associates and executives while supporting evolving business objectives. Evaluate existing compensation programs and advocate for enhancements and evolution to improve their effectiveness. Includes the development of the communication and education strategy for both core and emerging compensation programs.
  • Expertly advises and consults with leadership (and the P&C team) on internal and external pay recommendations including those with job or team structure changes.
  • Leading, developing, designing, and administrating the annual process for merit and short-term incentive programs, including supporting the Annual Talent Planning and Annual Compensation Planning processes.
  • Leads the effort in creating emerging or transformational strategies geared at propelling the business forward to meet long-term business goals.
  • Serves as the expert for department leadership in defining and creating new jobs, revising existing jobs/structure, pricing individual jobs in the appropriate labor market, and the annual market review. Educate/counsel management on effective use of market data and ensure proper application of our compensation programming.
  • Serves as a lead resource on special projects or areas of practice.
  • Works closely with departmental leaders, legal and finance to ensure our compensation programs are viable and limit overall risk.

What you'll bring to the team...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related area or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in compensation design and administration including program evaluation, analysis, implementation and business consulting/client interaction.
  • An analytical mind with top-notch MS Office skills, including Word, PowerPoint, and especially Excel.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience leading / coordinating highly impactful, enterprise-wide programs or projects.
  • Experience presenting to executive-level stakeholders.
  • Strong project management and finance skills, with ability to successfully manage multiple projects to established deadlines.
  • Expert-level understanding of market surveys, benchmarking practices, and tools (BetterComp, Market Pay, etc.).
  • Excellent understanding of compensation job structures.
  • Must be a self-starter with a passion for continuous learning and professional development. Must be collaborative team player, eager to share innovative ideas and tackle new challenges. A proactive mindset is essential to advance our compensation programming. Will thrive in a supportive environment, able to work under guidance while navigating through ambiguity.

Education

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

Work Experience

  • Compensation-related certifications such as Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and Certified Equity Professional (CEP).
  • Expert analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong understanding of various types of incentives and incentive structures.
  • Experience in Compensation & HR-related analytics.
  • Extensive experience using HR-related systems such as Workday and NICE.
  • Extensive experience in compensation administration in a large organization with diverse populations.

Pay Range Information

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan. Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.

Pay Range

$101,200.00 - $161,900.00/Yr.
