Chemical Engineer, TRX, TX, US

Job Description

Our client is seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer to support process development, optimization, and safety across manufacturing and R&D operations.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for manufacturing operations
  • Conduct process simulations and analysis to improve yield, efficiency, and safety
  • Monitor and troubleshoot plant processes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, production, and quality assurance
  • Prepare technical reports, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory bodies related to chemical processes
  • Support scale-up of lab processes to pilot and full-scale manufacturing
  • Select and specify equipment and materials based on process requirements
  • Participate in hazard and operability studies (HAZOP) and risk assessments
  • Implement and monitor quality control standards and environmental impact controls


Key Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of chemical process design, thermodynamics, and kinetics
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, ChemCAD)
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong collaboration abilities
  • Understanding of process safety management (PSM) principles
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other continuous improvement methodologies (preferred)
