Business Systems Analyst ($55/hr), Synergy Interactive, CA, US

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst with deep expertise in Asset Management and Trading. This role will partner closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to define requirements, enhance workflows, and deliver solutions that support critical functions such as Portfolio Management, Trading, Settlement, and Regulatory Reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong domain knowledge, hands-on data analysis skills, and the ability to bridge business and technical teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, operations, and compliance teams to gather and document detailed business requirements.
• Analyze workflows across portfolio management, trade execution, confirmations, settlements, and reporting.
• Conduct data analysis and validation using SQL; provide insights to support decision-making and solution design.
• Partner with engineering teams to translate requirements into technical specifications and user stories.
• Manage product backlogs, refine requirements, and support Agile ceremonies including sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Ensure regulatory and client reporting requirements are captured and implemented accurately.
• Act as a subject matter expert on order and trade lifecycle processes (pre-trade, trade, and post-trade).
• Support system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and implementation of new tools and processes.
• Provide clear communication and presentations to senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment on priorities and deliverables.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong experience in Asset Management with knowledge across Portfolio Management, Trading, Confirmation & Settlement, and Regulatory/Client Reporting.
• Solid understanding of financial products , preferably Fixed Income.
• Strong knowledge of order and trade lifecycles (pre-trade, execution, post-trade).
• Hands-on proficiency in SQL for data analysis; Python exposure is a plus.
• Experienced with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Proven ability to gather requirements, groom backlogs, and collaborate with technology teams.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Self-starter who works independently while excelling in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
• Familiarity with industry-leading platforms is highly desirable:
• BlackRock Aladdin and/or Charles River Development (CRD)
• Bloomberg
• Archer IMS (plus)
