Purpose
The Development and Marketing Assistant will support San Jacinto Christian Academy in achieving its mission through effective management of day-to-day development and marketing operations. The role focuses on communications, donor stewardship, data accuracy, and event coordination in order to strengthen relationships and expand the impact of the Development Office.

Born-again believer with testimony of salvation by receiving Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord.
Active member in good standing of an evangelical, Bible-believing church.
Public and private life that demonstrates Biblical qualities of a Christian role model, at home, work, in lifestyle, and in the community.
Practices principles of Christian growth including prayer, scripture memorization and study, witnessing, and discipleship.
Subscribes in full agreement to San Jacinto Christian Academy’s doctrinal statement.
Health and physical ability to perform the job description and duties.

Professional Qualifications
Supports and endorses SJCA’s policies and Christian Philosophy of Education.
Experience or training in communications, office administration, marketing, or related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word (mail merge, tables, styles), Canva, and Adobe Acrobat (merging files, optimizing PDFs, creating simple fillable forms).
Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram) including scheduling, monitoring, and reporting basic analytics.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities
Attend staff meetings as directed.
Support donor stewardship by preparing thank you letters, receipts, quarterly newsletters, and impact updates.
Maintain donor data files and track pledges, matching gifts, and sponsorship benefits with accuracy.
Assist in preparing donor packets, one-pagers, and simple proposals.
Draft and design flyers, handouts, and digital graphics using Canva; build and format documents in Microsoft Word; edit and compile PDFs in Adobe Acrobat.
Manage social media scheduling, basic content creation, and engagement tracking under the direction of the Director of Development and Marketing.
Organize photo and video assets for easy access and branding compliance.
Provide event support for development activities including the Patriot Annual Fund, Patriot Preview Night, golf tournament, alumni events, and donor coffees. Duties include managing checklists, name tags, programs, signage, room setup, guest greeting, and post-event follow up.
Maintain calendars, task lists, and production timelines for development and marketing projects.
Proofread materials for accuracy, tone, and brand alignment.
Prepare mailing lists, run exports, and generate basic reports.
Maintain confidentiality and protect donor, family, and school records in accordance with SJCA policies.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Development and Marketing or Superintendent.

Terms of Employment
This is a full-time, hourly, 12-month position. $14/hr. Some evenings and weekends are required for events. Salary and benefits are determined annually based on the budget, performance, and in accordance with the adopted salary schedule and employee handbook.

Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Director of Development and Marketing in consultation with the Superintendent, following the Board’s policy on the supervision of professional personnel.
