Job Description

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University seeks an Assistant Director, Recruitment Experience to design and deliver engaging recruitment events and outreach initiatives that highlight the unique value of The College and inspire prospective students to enroll.

The Assistant Director plans and executes group recruitment events – both in person and online – targeted toward prospective undergraduate and graduate students, their families, and others. Audiences may include current ASU applicants and admits as well as prospective undergraduate students in high schools and community colleges and prospective graduate students who are recent college graduates or working in industry. The Assistant Director will work with key contacts in each academic unit to identify event needs and opportunities, coordinate unit representation at prospect and admitted student events, and develop and coordinate “hands-on” experiences for potential Sun Devils attending recruitment events.

The position also enhances one-on-one outreach by training and supporting staff in the use of Salesforce CRM, creating a consistent and effective recruitment experience across The College’s nineteen schools and departments.

Reporting to the Director of New Student Outreach and Recruitment, this role requires strong event management, communication, and collaboration skills. The successful candidate will bring knowledge of higher education recruitment practices, experience leveraging CRM and event management platforms, and the ability to foster partnerships across diverse academic and administrative units.

Position Salary Range

  • $67,500 - $72,500 per year: DOE

Essential Duties

  • Design and execute a strategic portfolio of recruitment events (in person and virtual) to generate leads, increase applications, and improve admit yield for undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • Serve as project manager and lead on event execution, securing support from team members and college partners as needed.
  • Maintain the recruitment events calendar, prepare status reports, and communicate with stakeholders on progress and outcomes.
  • Build and manage events in Stova (event management software) or equivalent platforms.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote event attendance and create follow-up campaigns that move prospects toward enrollment.
  • Deliver informational presentations to prospective students, applicants, admits, families, and other audiences.
  • Train faculty and staff across The College to use Salesforce dashboards and outreach campaigns to nurture prospects, applicants, and admits through key admissions and enrollment milestones.
  • Develop and provide user-facing documentation, job aids, and best practices to support Salesforce recruitment users across schools and departments.
  • Build and maintain reports and campaigns in Salesforce, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data in collaboration with the information systems team.
  • Work independently under administrative direction, exercising judgment to plan and carry out assignments, resolve conflicts, and interpret policy while keeping supervisor informed.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in student recruitment, customer service, or admissions.
  • Experience in event planning, preferably in higher education recruitment or sales.
  • Knowledge and experience using Salesforce CRM, including calling campaigns, reports, and event campaigns.
  • Experience using Stova event management software or similar platform.
  • Experience working collaboratively, yet independently, securing buy-in as needed and designing procedures to meet necessary goals.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication, with strong attention to detail and editing experience.
  • Proven project management skills, including managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.

Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to
  • extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.
  • Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.
  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include resolving conflicts, coping with moderate stress levels, along with the requirements to complete tasks within set time constraints and frequently changing priorities.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
  • Requires some attendance at evening and weekend events.
  • This is an in-person position located on ASU's Tempe Campus that may provide limited opportunities for remote work of up to 2 days a week.
