Assistant Project Manager – Mechanical (HVAC)

A leading mechanical subcontractor specializing in HVAC systems is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join their growing team in Phoenix. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with ownership, gain hands-on project experience, and build a long-term career in the mechanical construction industry.

What You’ll Do

• Support the planning and execution of HVAC construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Assist with project schedules, budgets, cost tracking, and procurement
• Coordinate with field teams, engineers, clients, and vendors to ensure timely delivery and installation
• Review submittals, RFIs, and change orders while maintaining accurate project documentation
• Use project management software and tools to track progress and report updates
• Learn directly under the guidance of senior leadership and ownership

What We’re Looking For

• 2–5 years of experience in construction project management, preferably with HVAC or mechanical systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred (equivalent industry experience considered)
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Desire to grow into a leadership role within a respected mechanical contractor
