AML and Compliance Manager (12 month secondment)

About the role

As part of the AML team in Compliance you will support the MLRO in managing COEPs  financial crime compliance, including developing and maintaining anti-money laundering (AML) policies, conducting risk assessments, overseeing transaction monitoring, preparing management reports, and acting as a liaison with regulators and Enterprise teams. You will  ensure the organization adheres to regulatory requirements and internal controls to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing. There may also be opportunities to  deputize for the MLRO on occasion. 
 

What you’ll do

 Support Delivery of the AML Work Programme

  • Own the delivery and provide support to prioritized AML objectives , deliverables and change projects  

  • Draft COEP Policies, Standards and Procedures for review

  • Provide relevant input into monthly, quarterly and annual reports that are delivered to COEP Senior Management and Enterprise stakeholders

  • maintain US relationships where required to oversee and perform processes and ensure potential impacting change is appropriately prioritised

  • Take ownership for High Risk Country assessments and ensure related actions arising from these are appropriated actioned by the Operation

  • Ensure appropriate insight is added to any cross functional deliverables (e.g Operational )  impacting the AML Work Programme highlighting and escalating impacts, mitigating risk  and maintaining traction

  • Using data, provide grounded thought and experience/ knowledge to influence the implementation or design of change

  • Keep up to date with Industry and Regulatory news in relation to AML/CTF and ensure relevant context is shared and evaluated appropriately

AML Risk Management and Control Oversight / Second Line Assurance 

  • Provide second line assurance on business change and business processes that impact AML requirements to ensure appropriate actions are taken and AML risk is appropriately managed

  • Support and advise on Event remediation and resolution for AML/CTF impacting events and issues

  • Support testing for UK AML owned controls and ensure any resulting issues are fully documented and resolved

  • Maintain oversight of 1st line owned controls that are managing AML Risk and ensure any escalations or problems are appropriately escalated and reported on.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders to ensure ineffective Controls and AML related Issues are proactively highlighted

  • Work with business areas to ensure operational AML Controls and Tests are designed and performing effectively

Manage Sanctions Screening Processes

  • Work alongside the MLRO to manage the Sanctions Screening programme

  • Maintain and own relationships with US teams in relationship to Sanctions list and Hotlist screening to ensure the process is appropriately managed,

  • Ensure Sanctions processes and procedures are robust, effective and efficient and appropriately documented (ensuring any gaps in knowledge are filled and documented). 

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in Risk Management, Risk Assessments and Assurance activities, ideally in relation to AML and Sanctions

  • Experience working with Audit and external regulators in exam preparation and responses

  • Understanding of  AML, Sanctions and PEP investigations within a regulated environment

  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively prioritise workloads accordingly

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence

  • Great internal and external relationships that enable driving change

  • Able to identify problems, come up with effective solutions and influence to prioritise them.

This is a 12 month secondment position based in our Nottingham office.  

We have a hybrid working model which gives you flexibility to work from our offices and from home. 

We’re big on collaboration and connection, so you’ll be based in one of our offices 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
